Some readers might want to sit down after this news.
The star of 'Home Alone' Macaulay Culkin is 40 years old. We'll give you a moment to just let that sink in.
Taking to Twitter to spread his good cheer, the actor tweeted to his followers that yes, he isn't that independent little kid Kevin McCallister that thwarted the plans of Harry and Marv from his home house in Chicago, and then New York City: "Hey guys, wanna feel old? I'm 40. You're welcome.
"It's my gift to the world: I make people feel old. I'm no longer a kid, that's my job."

Taking the opportunity to employ someone with Photoshop skills on his big day, Culkin also asked the internet if taking up a new hobby in surfing at the age of 40 was a good enough midlife crisis for him to undertake.
Do any of you have photoshop skill? Can you put my head on a surfer so I can get an idea of how cool I'd look?

And so, the internet provided.

In terms of the movie that made him a household name, Disney is working away on a 'Home Alone' reboot for their streaming service.
Hoping to see Macaulay Culkin appear in some form of cameo (it's inevitable, right?), the cast of the new entry in the series will see Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney play the neglectful parents, while Kenan Thompson, Chris Parnell and Ally Maki appear to be the playing the roles of the pesky thieves. Archie Yates from 'Jojo Rabbit' will be playing the child left home alone.
Our own Aisling Bea has also been cast, with the comedian-turned-actress claiming to be playing "the part of all of the children".
If you’re asking, I play the part of all of the children especially the youngest. I also play the actual idea of a home.
