Lindsay Lohan apparently got 'spooked by paparazzi' and did a runner from rehab before even checking in, which is kind of an issue when it's court ordered, so much so that she'll be arrested if she doesn't return pronto.
The 26-year-old actress fled from her rehab centre on Thursday morning after mere minutes, and has until dawn to return to Morningside Recovery facility in Newport Beach, California. Old firecrotch originally agreed to spend 90 days in treatment after pleading 'no contest' to charges for lying to police about driving during a car crash last June and has been given a 6am LA time (2pm our time) deadline, or prosecutors will seek a warrant for her arrest. Lindsay On The Lam would make for an excellent reality TV show now. Fingers crossed someone is recording the shit out of everything she's doing right now.
Ahyway, everyone involved has serious frowny-faces on, with a source telling RadarOnline: 'Lindsay leaving the rehab centre that a judge was actually allowing her to stay in was a big mistake. Making that decision has serious consequences and if she doesn't have her attorney deal with this tonight then the City Attorney is going to go to court in the morning to get a warrant for her arrest.'
Lindsay pulled up outside the facility in her SUV yesterday, but didn't even make it inside. She allegedly headed straight for LAX to board a flight back to New York, where she spent the day shopping. According to the New York Daily News: 'She went shopping at an electronics store then she was on the rehab property for a couple minutes but got spooked by the paparazzi. She was saying, 'I'm not going to rehab. I'm not going to rehab. Take me back to the airport.' However, her lawyer Mark Heller appeared in court on Thursday morning, claiming she was 'ensconced in the bosom of that facility right now'. Who the hell uses the word ensconced anymore?
Not only did the star fail to check into rehab, but it wasn't actually the right facility in the first place. Lindsay has been blasted for choosing the California based over Seafield Centre in New York, which had been approved by Los Angeles prosecutors under the terms of her plea deal in March.
City Attorney Terry White told Judge James Dabney: 'I'm clearly puzzled by her decision to go to rehab facility that we hadn't approved. We did our due diligence and investigated facilities given to us by [Lindsay's lawyer] Mark Heller, and we had agreed on a facility. I find out yesterday, from the media, that Ms. Lohan has decided to go somewhere else. It's unacceptable. I have three newspaper articles right here about problems with that facility. We need time to investigate the facility.'
