Lily Allen has thanked and praised her husband for helping her cope with the death of their still-born son four years ago.
The 29-year-old singer has thanked her 37-year-old husband Sam Cooper after he supported her when she struggled to deal with the stillbirth in November 2010.
Speaking in an obviously emotional interview, Lily said: "I think it's difficult for anybody regardless of what world they live in and actually what I took home from that experience was ... even though it was the most unfortunate thing that can ever happen to a person, I was very fortunate in the sense that I have a loving partner to go home to and share that experience with... There are many women - [there are] 17 stillbirths in the UK every day - that go home and they don't have that support, they have to go home and deal with that on their own so I am kind of in a bit of a ... count-my-blessings scenario."
Lily - who is mother to two-year-old Ethel Mary and 22-month-old Marnie Rose - also hit out at critics who claimed she is more interested in partying after she was spotted hanging out with Chris Martin, without her daughters swinging out of her.
She tells Jonathan Ross: "The way that they had sort of insinuated it was that, 'She's a mother of two, abandoning her children'. I'm in a car with a father-of-two and at no point has anyone alluded to him abandoning his children! There is a double standard." Yep, and there probably always will be - particularly when there are fathers still referring to looking after their children as "babysitting."
The Jonathan Ross Show airs at 9.45pm tomorrow on UTV/ITV. It's advisable to have some tissues to hand.
