Due to be unveiled on Sunday, but apparently publishers Acitivision just couldn't hold out that long, and had to share with the world their vision of the latest entry into the Call Of Duty franchise, and boy oh boy, does it look good!
Set in the year 2054, and international military power is no longer the strongest force on the planet. Instead, privately owned military corporations now hold most of the power, with the biggest and most powerful run by Jonathan Irons (voiced by none other than Kevin Spacey). Irons is intent on using his private military might to disrupt the current U.S. government, and put in place a new President.
And just who does he have in mind for President? Yep, you guessed it; himself. So not content with becoming ruler of the free world in House Of Cards, Spacey is now doing the same thing in the video game world. Also, any fans of House Of Cards will note that his character Frank Underwood liked nothing better than to spend some time playing some Call Of Duty in his downtime. Synergy!
The trailer for the game doesn't look like it's switched up the gameplay of Call Of Duty too much, but as one of the best selling games series in existence, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The future-setting lends itself to some interesting weaponry and fire-fights, including an armored exoskeleten that looks like it's straight out of Elysium. Awesome.
Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare is due to arrive on PS4, PS3, XBox One, XBox 360 and PC on November 4th 2014.
