This year’s Women’s March on Washington, which takes place on January 21st, is set to be a powerful event.

The Women’s March will see a mass mobilization of activists and protestors descend on the capital, the day after President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The event is set to see hundreds of thousands of women marching through the streets of Washington, DC, to demand that their rights be protected in the new administration. The march is not exclusively taking place in Washington as dozens of cities around the US will also host marches.

The Women’s March today announced that stars like Cher, Katy Perry, Zendaya, and Amy Schumer will be marching among its participants. The ever-growing events features a number of famous actresses and singers who believe in the cause.

So far the following are confirmed: Uzo Aduba, Cristela Alonzo, Patricia Arquette, Danielle Brooks, Cher, Lea DeLaria, Diane Guerrero, Danai Gurira, Chelsea Handler, Scarlett Johansson, Margo Jefferson, Julianne Moore, Debra Messing, Frances McDormand, Hari Nef, Katy Perry, Monica Raymond, Amy Schumer, Yara Shahidi, Alia Sherif, Kara Walker, Olivia Wilde, Constance Wu, and Zendaya.

Actress America Ferrera of Ugly Betty fame serves as chair of the Artist Table for the march. She stated in a release announcing the march’s line-up: “Since the election, so many fear that their voices will go unheard. As artists, women and, most importantly, dedicated Americans, it is critical that we stand together in solidarity for the protection, dignity and rights of our communities. Immigrant rights, worker rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, racial justice and environmental rights are not special interests, they affect us all.”

Avengers actress Johansson said she would be attending to "make my voice heard and stand up for what I believe in" and criticised Trump's administration for "attacking" women's reproductive rights with its stance against abortion and Planned Parenthood.

Meryl Streep's speech at the recent Golden Globes is sure to rally public involvement in the march even further.
