Katie Holmes has appeared without her 5 carat diamond wedding ring for the first time. And everyone's talking about it. Particularly the publicists behind Project Runway.
Katie was photographed in NYC as she left a Project Run(a)way taping and noticeably had no jewellery on her left ring finger as she lifted her hand to touch her hair while inside a car. Which was being surrounded by paps. Slightly more subtle than Nicole Kidman's almost rapturous star jump when she got her divorce papers, but it's up there among the more pointed gestures.
The mother of the actor's youngest child, Suri Cruise, had worn the ring last week, only days before she filed legal papers for their separation on Thursday (28.06.12).
Katie claims her marriage to Tom was "irretrievably" broken for at least six months. Which you can assume is a conservative estimate.
Sources close to Oblivion star Tom say Katie's version of events are baffling, claiming her husband of five years had "no idea" she was going to legally end their marriage. Naturally Tom is going to dispute this when he files for custody in California.
