Apologies, you were deprived of your Katie V Tom update yesterday. Truth is, we decided to give you a bit of a break 'cause this skit is going to be relentless.
Tom. Poor Tom. Tom cancelled his 50th birthday party plans to instead spend some quite time with adopted children Isabella and Connor. It was "a sombre affair." While that was going on, Katie and Suri were getting some ice cream on the east coast. He probably took the time to help hone a statement released by his lawyer Bret Fields, which read:
"We are letting the other side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something to say." 'Cause you're saying nothing with that statement… Bret then added: "It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what's happening." No, he'd prefer to keep all the alien talk more behind closed doors of a large boot camp ship at sea.
Paramount studios have publicly backed Tom, saying: "Tom is a huge movie star for the right reason (aliens); he's a very talented actor whose movies have entertained millions of fans. His ability to make a great movie is the thing moviegoers remember."
Don't worry, Katie, we'll always have Dawson's Creek, your Popeye smile, and those hawt cowboy boots you didn't take off during Wonder Boys.
