As details begin to emerge on the tragic passing of Anton Yelchin, many fellow actors and directors have took to Twitter to mourn.
Perhaps his most well-known role was that of Chekov in Star Trek Beyond, in which he starred alongside John Cho, Karl Urban, Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg. As well as Star Trek Beyond, Yelchin also had a career-best performance in Jeremy Saulnier's indie smash-hit Green Room, where he played a punk bassist trapped in a neo-Nazi bar following a gruesome murder.
Yelchin also turned in a memorable performance in the 2011 remake of cult horror-comedy Fright Night and was one of the leading castmembers of the cerebral TV drama series Huff, alongside Hank Azaria.
Leading the tributes was his Star Trek castmate, John Cho, who played Hikaru Sulu.
I loved Anton Yelchin so much. He was a true artist - curious, beautiful, courageous. He was a great pal and a great son. I'm in ruins.

Oh, Anton. Such a dedicated, generous and hyper-smart young man. So grateful for the time we shared, destroyed he left so soon.

Anton was one of the gentlest, most vibrant, hilarious people I ever had the pleasure of knowing or working with. Gone far too soon. X
