Ah, look at him there. He really must be thrilled - he got a stage all to himself on Leno last night. Even President Obama's been nattering about him! (see the footage here) Off the record, of course.
According to Fox News, Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran Tweeted on Monday: "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential."
The post was taken down shortly afterwards, with an ABC spokesperson issuing this apology: "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."
Speaking of apologies and deleted posts, Kanye's non-apology which he posted on Sunday night, after he was removed from the awards, has been deleted. He's now going with this instead. For some reason:
"I feel like Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave... That was Taylor's moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry."
Not sure that's better but it's a start. And, hey, he's even went out of his way to say during his Leno interview that he would like to "help Taylor in the future." Just in case someone who's out sold him in a majorly recently might need his help in anyway.
Here are some comments from other folk who managed to have their attention grabbed by Kanye:
Donald Trump wants to boycott all things Kanye "so this kind of thing doesn't happen again... He couldn't care less about Beyonce. It was grandstanding to get attention."
Joel Madden: WOW Taylor Swift's first VMA and she didn't even get to ENJOY it. Kanye You were just a bully on that one man.
Nathan Followill: "We lost dammit. Maybe next year. At least we got to see the worst haircut since 1984 try to steal the spotlight from lovely Taylor Swift."
Adam Lambert: Kanye needs to chill. He freaks out every year. It ain't that deep man.
Pink: "Kanye west is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me."
Katy Perry: "F*CK U KANYE. IT'S LIKE U STEPPED 0N A KITTEN."
P. Diddy was slightly more diplomatic, offering: "I'm gonna say this, we should always have respect for each other! End of discussion", while Kelly Clarkson went on this lengthy tirade:
"Dear Kanye,
What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we're all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like shit. I mean, I've seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It's absolutely fascinating how much I don't like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you...which is pretty odd since I don't even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren't even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??
I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her...so why can't you be?? I'm not even mad at you for being an asshole...I just pity you because you're a sad human being.
On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!
Taylor Swift, you outsell him ....that's why he's bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl!
KC :)"
