Kanye West is being sued for allegedly assaulting a photographer.
Paparazzo Daniel Ramos filed court documents yesterday claiming he was attacked by Kanye while trying to take photos of him at Los Angeles International Airport on July 19. Ramos, who has hired celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, claims he was just one of a group of paparazzi who was taking pictures of West when the incident occurred.
The lawsuit alleges that 'without warning or provocation', Kanye 'suddenly attacked, punching and attempting to wrestle the camera from' Ramos' hands after the photographer asked him: 'Can we talk to you?' He claims he was able to protect his camera but fell to the ground 'with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, as well as accompanying pain and emotional distress.' He was then taken to Marina Del Rey Hospital by ambulance to get checked out.
An evaluation worksheet released last Friday by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office stated that Ramos was discharged from the hospital with a contusion and muscle strain but the D.A. decided not to file felony charges against Kanye as there was no 'significant injury'. Ramos told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday that he was 'just trying to do my job', according to E! News.
He added: 'I am speaking out today because I don't want what happened to me to ever happen to anyone else.' He is seeking unspecified damages for allegations of battery, assault, negligence and interference with the exercise of civil rights.
Well with images like these, it's going to be hard for Kanye to deny anything happened.
