John Hurt, Kirstin Scott Thomas and Esther Rantzen are amongst the names on the Queen's New Year Honours list for 2015.
The annual award bestows titles upon a selected group of people who have contributed to their chosen field in an exceptional manner.
Hurt has been knighted, making him Sir John Hurt, while actress Scott Thomas and TV presenter/journalist Rantzen have been made Dames.
Others included on the honours list include fashion designer Mary Quant, poet Carol Ann Duffy and actress Joan Collins, while actors Emily Watson and James Corden have been made OBEs.
Northern Irish boxer Paddy Barnes has been made an MBE for his services to the sport. The 27-year-old Belfast man said "I am pleased to have been recognised in the Queen's honours list for 2015 for my contribution to the sport of boxing and for my contribution to work in this community."
