Ricky Gervais is not happy with Irish audiences - and it's all Jimmy Carr's fault.
The comic took to X (Twitter) last night to express his mild outrage at the results of an analysis conducted by the website Ticket Source.
Using a variety of factors, it determined what each UK comedian and US comedian were most popular in a number of countries.
When it came to UK comedians, there was one name that swept the board - Ricky Gervais - except for one country.
Ireland.
According to the analysis, Ireland's favourite UK comedian is Jimmy Carr, and our favourite US comedian is, rather bizarrely, named as Pete Davidson.
Carr does have Irish roots, after all, as both his parents are Irish - which may explain the matter.
However, Gervais had this to say about the issue:
However, people had plenty to say about the matter...
I’m Irish and I don’t know a single person who likes Jimmy Carr and I’ve never heard of Pete Davidson.
