If you're of a certain vintage, you'll remember a key moment in Irish pop culture when Bill Murray appeared on 'The Late Late Show' in the late '90s and was quizzed about ghosts by a very eager man in the crowd.

As it turned out, that particular guy was comedian Jason Byrne and the cringe factor of the whole thing haunts Jason Byrne to this day. Byrne sat down for an episode of 'The Delve' and talked about working in comedy, his upcoming show at The Vodafone Comedy Festival, judging on 'Ireland's Got Talent', hanging out in London with Irish comics in the '90s, and - of course - that moment with Bill Murray. "I wouldn't do it now," said Byrne. "I got my dad's tie, brushed my hair over to the side and stayed in character when I got into the audience holding area..."

Here's what Jason remembers of the incident, and then having to talk from the Burlington Hotel back to Ballinteer. You can watch the full episode here.

Jason Byrne plays the Vodafone Comedy Festival from Thursday to Sunday at Iveagh Gardens, Dublin.
