Last year there was huge concern for Jamie Foxx when it was revealed that the actor had been hospitalised following an unspecified 'medical emergency'.

The 'Ray' star had been shooting Netflix film 'Back in Action' in Atlanta with Cameron Diaz, with production continuing on the film (which will be released later this year) amid his illness.

However, details were vague about what had actually happened to Foxx, with his daughter Corinne issuing a brief statement only to say that he "experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery."

Foxx has not spoken about what actually happened - until now, when he told a group of people gathered around him outside a cafe in Arizona over the weekend that the illness started with a "bad headache".

"Look, April 11th last year. Bad headache. I asked my boy for an Advil," he said, snapping his fingers. "I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything. So they told me - I’m in Atlanta - so they told me my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor. … They gave me a cortisone shot."

He added that doctors eventually told him that "something’s going on up there," referring to his head, but added: "I won’t say it on camera."

Various outlets have reached out to Foxx for further information.
