Jamie Foxx has received some backlash from the deaf community after his decision to use fake sign language during a promo for The Tonight Show.
American model and deaf activist, Nyle DiMarco, tweeted that the Oscar winner's actions were 'disrespectful' and lacked 'cultural sensitivity'.
Foxx posted the segment in which Foxx used fake sign language on Twitter and then followed it up with a full statement on his feelings about the matter.
.@iamjamiefoxx, It is straight up disrespectful to make up sign language.
Everything is in gibberish. pic.twitter.com/X5AHkusq3o
