In what may be our favourite story to emerge from the goings-on of 4th of July slash Independence Day (though there was also a very sweet proposal on the day), James Woods has revealed on Twitter that he got dumped as a client by his agent Ken Kaplan yesterday.
But best of all is the way it was done. I mean, this could rival Carrie's post-it dump in its sheer randomness.
Woods shared an email with his 1.5 million followers on Twitter from Kaplan in which he explains that he was “feeling patriotic” and did not want to represent Woods anymore.
Kaplan added: “I mean I could go on a rant but you know what I’d say.”
Woods also shared his response to Kaplan, writing: “if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate free speech and one’s right to think as an individual.”
Showing no ill will, the actor went on to thank Kaplan for “all [his] hard work and devotion” on his behalf. He ended the note with the words: “Be well.”
So this email from my agent (a political liberal) today... pic.twitter.com/RLXUWi9no8

My response: “Dear Ken, I don’t actually. I was thinking if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate free speech and one’s right to think as an individual. Be that as it may, I want to thank you for all your hard work and devotion on my behalf. Be well.” https://t.co/nEe8OMaWb2

Sure it would only happen to James Woods.
