This reading of 'James and the Giant Peach' from Taika Waititi and Ryan Reynolds is so pure and fun, it's the ideal pick-me-up.
As previously reported, Waititi has organised a reading of Roald Dahl's classic 'James and the Giant Peach' to raise money for charity. And to give us comfort and amusement in these troubling times.
The novel will be read over ten installments and half the episodes are online now.
Celebrity guests who have joined Taika so far include Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Nick Kroll, Benedict Cumberbatch, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Cara Delevingne, Olivia Wilde, Tessa Thomspon and more.
For episode five, Ryan Reynolds joined the actor-writer-director and it was glorious.
They put on silly voices, ad libbed a little, and Waititi even brought out a guitar at one point. Just lovely.

The remaining installments land on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays at 10 a.m. PST/6 p.m. BST. The next episode's guests will be Josh Gad and Lupita Nyong’o.
The book reading is to raise funds for Partners In Health, a global health nonprofit founded by Roald Dahl’s daughter, Ophelia.
