It's hard to believe that 'School of Rock' is twenty years old this year, but one man who hasn't forgotten about it is Jack Black.
Black's role as teacher Dewey Finn remains one of his most iconic to date - and in fact, he has said in the past that it remains the film that he is most fond of. "My best memories are just that group of kids, and how funny and great they were,” he said in an interview last year. "It’s definitely the highlight of my career, I can say that. Honestly."
It's no surprise, then, that the actor and comedian plans to celebrate the milestone anniversary with a cast reunion this year.
He told Entertainment Tonight: "All those kids — dig this — they were 10 years old when we made that movie and now they’re all, like, 30. We’re gonna get together and have a 20-year anniversary. We like to jam. I’m looking forward to seeing all of the grownups from ‘School of Rock.'"
He added that he will "100%" share updates of the reunion on social media.
As for whether the reunion will inspired a 'School of Rock' spin-off or sequel? It's not beyond the realm of possibility, considering how it has already spawned a Broadway musical and a Nickelodeon series.
And considering how the film's writer Mike White - yes, the same Mike White who is responsible for 'The White Lotus' - is currently enjoying a purple patch, he could surely rustle something up.
In the meantime, you can get your Jack Black fix in the new 'Super Mario Bros. Movie', which has just been released.
