Storm Barra rips through the country today, causing havoc in some areas. The south-west of the country is getting the worst of the weather, with no better example than this footage taken from Fastnet, off the coast of Cork.
Both Cork and Kerry have status red warnings in place this afternoon as the two counties continue to get the worst of the storm. Clare will also get a red warning from 4pm.
Around 49,000 are without power throughout the country and the storm is due to stay with us for the rest of the day.
We got some fascinating images and videos shared on social media throughout this morning and afternoon. But the footage below really stands out.
Filmed by the lighthouse keeper Ronnie O'Driscoll, the video shows the sheer size of the waves washing up near the coast. The terrifying footage was filmed on Fastnet Rock, the most southerly point of Ireland.
The lighthouse stands about 6.5km off the coast of Cape Clear Island, and 13km from the coast of Cork.
