People of a certain age have all once wanted to be Kevin from 'Home Alone' or at least experience a night of hijinks while the family are away. For one lucky group, that dream will come true.
The McCallister house in Winnetka, Illinois will be available to rent for one night only, December 12, through Airbnb. Buzz, Kevin's older brother, is the host of the original house from the popular 1990 movie.
No price has been set yet on the stay and a maximum of four people are allowed. Guests will then be greeted on arrival by Devin Ratray, who played Buzz in the films.
The Airbnb page reads:
"Many Christmases ago, the McCallisters went to Paris – well, most of us."
"Though we’re older and wiser now (I’ve even got my own security firm), we’re never too old for holiday hijinks. So while we’re away on vacation (all of us, this time), I’m inviting one crew of mischief makers to let their inner eight-year-olds run free in my childhood home."
Guests can eat junk food, watch rubbish on TV, borrow Mr McCallister’s aftershave and choose their own adventure with a legendary battle plan as a guide. As long as they stay out of Buzz's room.
"After you’ve worked up an appetite, you can feast on all the comfort food your hearts desire, including plenty of Chicago’s finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese." Sounds delicious.
The stay is all for a great cause too. Airbnb are making a one-time donation to Chicago’s La Rabida Children’s Hospital, dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life for each of its patients with complex conditions, disabilities, and chronic illness.
The Home Alone franchise recently came back to life through Disney's 'Home Sweet Home Alone'. So the only catch is you may be stuck having to watch that.
