Val Kilmer is a big fan of Cate Blanchett and he really wants you to know about it.
The Top Gun star acted alongside Oscar winner in 2003's The Missing and she obviously left a major impression on him because it's seventeen years later and he can't stop tweeting about her. Kilmer sent out a series of bizarre tweets about Blanchett over the weekend and to the casual observer, he kind of comes across as obsessive.
It started off with this selfie he shared of himself before mentioning a trip to Australia he took to speak with Blanchett.
Once I flew all the way to Australia just to talk to Cate Blanchett. Her husband met me first. Or, instead, I guess, to be accurate. pic.twitter.com/xSoYxRi0jh

OK seems pretty innocent right? He went to visit his former co-star but ended up hanging with her husband instead. Maybe Kilmer and Cate's husband are actually pals themselves?
But then Kilmer started talking about the dreams.
And recently I've had 2 dreams with #CateBlanchett in them. Her husband wasn't in either of them.

And about how "real" Blanchett is.
She's just as amazing in person. Some super stars aren't-Some superstars don't do a thing to ya in person-Cate is so real it's almost unreal

And about how dazzling she is in person.
Once I did a cameo just to hang w/ #cateblanchett who pickd up a shovel in our sc. I was so dazzled by HOW she picked it up I forgot my line

Has it officially become creepy yet? That last tweet is definitely a little creepy. One of Kilmer's followers called him out on the tweets at this point and he was not impressed that anybody would make that suggestion.
@Ruth_Less_Lady nothing in the least creepy about loving someone. What kind of world do you come from?

I've never done said or written a single idea that wasn't of the highest respect and admiration for #cateblanchett or any other great talent

She's a friend of mine and I've met her husband thru the years and we've all gotten along just fine. Anyone who thinks I need to curb my

Enthusiasm for a great rare artist doesn't understand how difficult the job is and how we artist count on the respect of our peers. She will

Back up every word I say n love that I say I love her. I would love an actor I didn't even enjoy if he flew the world to talk about a role.

Maybe we're being too cynical here and it's all very innocent but it probably should be pointed out that isn't the first time that Kilmer has gone on the record about his deep admiration for Blanchett. In a 2006 interview with Elle he named Blanchett as a woman whose number he'd like to have on speed dial. He also noted that Blanchett was most likely aware of Kilmer's feelings towards her.
"I think she probably got a sense of it when I not only forgot my dialogue in the scene, I forgot that I was acting, I forgot I was on a movie set, and I just stood there staring at her."
