Might be an idea. We're not sure what the odds are - but given she's 8.5 months pregnant and has to host a live show alongside 25 kids, Brian McFadden AND Jedward, someone has seen fit to get a midwife to hang around the audience for the duration of the event tomorrow night.
TV3 spokesperson Sharon McHugh confirmed via the station's website: “With baby Koster due in December, we’re not taking any chances! TV3 will have a midwife in situ as part of the audience should Karen get overly excited and go into labour early.”
Given someone has seen fit to replace the usually calming presence of Alan Hughes with Jedward and bleedin' Brian McFadden, it's almost like they're willing the onset of labour. There could be some good news for Hughes, however - it's just been announced that Karen's co-host is feeling under the weather, and is currently trying to sleep something off in a Dublin hotel room after flying in from London.
Speaking about her impending maternity leave, and if she'd consider jacking it all in to be a full time mum, Koster said: "No, but I am looking forward to my maternity leave because I’ve worked flat out for nearly 11 years. I’m always rushing around, trying to meet a deadline, trying to be somewhere, always chasing my tail so I’m looking forward to having a new boss in the house and being on someone else’s schedule. I’m looking forward to creating a lovely home for my baby. I know I’m going to be busier and more tired than ever before but I’m going to be having the best time."
If you'd like to see if Karen Koster's waters break tomorrow evening, tune into TV3 from 8pm.
