Miguel Delaney is a well-recognised football journalist, but last night when he took to Twitter to talk about Father Ted, he got a bit more than he bargained for.

Having shared an article about what made people fall out of love with The Simpsons, Delaney then mentioned that he also thought the same happened with the final series of Father Ted, after which someone decided to copy in Graham Linehan and let them know that Delaney was having a bit of a go at the series. Linehan's reaction was fairly blunt:

In Delaney's defence, he did attempt to engage with Linehan in a discussion about why he thinks that, but he ended up getting short shrift on that front.

Some of our favourite episodes are in the third season it has to be said ('Speed 3', 'Chirpy Burpy Cheap Sheep' and 'Escape From Victory' chief among them) so we can't really agree with Miguel on that front, but Graham still seems a little bit harsh there, possibly. We're unlikely to tell him that though, in case we get a similar response ourselves.
