Someone's been watching too much Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. And Hitchcock. Below is what is allegedly a golden eagle flying above a park in Montreal, Canada, before swooping down and trying to lift a toddler right off the ground but failing to do so, courtesy of YouTuber MrNuclearCat.
Now apparently there are eagles in Montreal, and those things grow to be mighty big, but I'm on the bandwagon of this being a big old fake. For starters, there's the fact that the eagle coming in to land looks like dodgy CGI, and there are moments when it's flapping its wings trying to get away with the baby that seem unnatural. Also the fact that someone would be recording the eagle in flight so perfectly, AND the fact that the parent/guardian of the child takes so long to notice A GIANT BIRD ATTACKING THEIR CHILD are a little unbelievable. Also? If a golden eagle wants your baby, it's gonna have your baby. And not in a Natasha Bedingfield way.
