Interesting choice. Perhaps George isn't feeling entirely upbeat regarding his impending nuptials... then again, Amal is apparently a fan.
The 53-year-old actor has approached the Born to Die hitmaker's representatives about the possibility of her performing when he marries Amal Alamuddin in Italy in September because his fiancee is such a big fan.
A source revealed: "Amal is a massive fan of Lana's, which has made George determined to make this happen. He contacted Lana's people to see if she'll perform at their wedding in Italy."
The 28-year-old singer recently performed at Kim and Kanye's typically low key wedding, and George is now said to be willing to splash out on her services to please his future wife.
The source added: "Of course, unlike Kimye, George doesn't know her personally so he can expect to pay a hefty fee. But money is no object. He'll pay Lana whatever she wants to make his wife-to-be-happy."
George may want to have a backup wedding singer waiting in the wings, as Lana hasn't yet confirmed whether she's willing to take the job as she is worried about her reputation...
A source told the Daily Star: "Lana hasn't told the couple yet whether or not she'll be able to perform. But she's wondering whether it might look tacky to sing at two of the most high-profile celebrity weddings of the year."
It may have been construed as "tacky" to sing at Kimye's wedding; consider singing at Clooney's a chance to level the scales, love.
