If you ever needed incontrovertible evidence that Justin Bieber's music is off-putting to both the human world and the animal kingdom, look no further.

A Russian fisherman is counting his lucky stars after being saved from an agonising death at the hands (and, er, teeth) of a brown bear only to be saved by the sounds of Justin Bieber's 'Baby' coming from his mobile phone.

Igor Vorozhbitsyn was attacked by the bear while fishing in northern Russia when the bear attacked him. He suffered cuts and bruises but was spared from a grizzly end (pun intended) when his phone suddenly rang, sending the unnatural sounds of the Bieber's hit song into the Russian wilderness.

"I had parked my car and was walking towards the spot I'd marked out when there was a tremendous impact on my back", Vorozhbitsyn told European News as reported by the New York Post.

"I couldn't believe my luck when my phone went off and he fled. I know that sort of ringtone isn't to everyone's taste, but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone as a joke."

Either the wild animal couldn't bear Justin's music, or he's a big Orlando Bloom fan. Either way, Justin Bieber's music saves lives and that's the unavoidable fact that we choose to take from this story.
