And unfortunately no, the child is not named Slash.
Fergie has given birth to a baby boy, as the former Black Eyed Peas singer and her husband Josh Duhamel welcomed their first son into the world yesterday evening. According to People magazine the baby - named Axl Jack - weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces.
It had previously been reported the couple had gone into a Los Angeles hospital to prepare for Fergie to give birth via Caesarean section, although the details have not yet been confirmed by a representative. In the past, Josh has admitted being 'terrified' about becoming a father for the first time because the huge responsibility of caring for his son was sinking in.
He previously explained: 'I got to tell you, I'm a little bit nervous. I thought I was going to be good, I thought I was ready for this and I'm a little bit terrified. I'm excited and terrified because I'm responsible for this little thing forever. I just got that.' However, earlier this year he spoke of his pride after seeing Fergie's first ultrasound, saying: 'It's very exciting ... [It's] unlike anything you've ever seen. You're like, 'Wow, it's mine,''
So welcome Axl Jack Eyed Pea Duhamel! You've only got 18 years until you can legally change that name, so hold on. We're sure Fergie had the best intentions/was on far too many painkillers when she named you.
Or maybe we've underestimated her and she's actually a very wily stockbroker and named the child after American Axle & Manufact. Holdings, Inc.? They even closed up 2% on Wall Street yesterday (whatever that means).
