The first casualty from Lift-gate has been revealed this morning, as the culprit behind the leaking of the video of Solange Knowles, sister of Beyonce, attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator in a New York hotel after the MET Gala last week has been reportedly fired.
The Standard Hotel released a statement on Monday saying that they were 'shocked and disappointed' by the breach in their security upon the release of the video, and added yesterday that they would hand over 'all available information to criminal authorities'. Today they announced that an employee had been identified as the leak and fired for 'breaching the security polices of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video'.
Reps for Jay Z, Solange and Beyoncé have still made no statement about the incident, although Solange did proceed to remove all but one photo of her sister from her Instagram, while Beyoncé added four to hers, keeping things nicely passive aggressive.
Jay in the meanwhile reportedly took Solange jewellery shopping, because nothing says sorry like diamonds.
