Well that's one way to ring in the New Year.
Ellen Page made the surprise announcement last night via Instagram that she recently married partner Emma Portner.
The couple revealed their marriage with dual posts of a photograph of their hands with wedding rings, as well as photos of the couple embracing in the wilderness.
"Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife. @emmaportner" was Page's caption on the post, which also included a photo of her new wife.
Portner is a critically acclaimed dancer with the Broadway Dance Center, and has worked with Justin Bieber, founded her own dance company and even choreographed the new Meatloaf musical 'Bat Out of Hell'.
According to The Cut, Portner and Page met when Portner posted a video to a song by Sylvan Esso, the band shared the video, and Page saw it and DM’d her.
The couple have since appeared in several videos together on both of their Instagrams.
