You probably even have a good idea of who the new the record holder is.
The tweeter who tweeted the most retweeted tweet of all time was up until now none other than talk show host Ellen Degeneres. The tweet was from the 2014 Oscars and saw her pose for a seflie with a number of celebs including Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Hart Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey and Julia Roberts.

But since then Carter Wilkerson from Nevada, USA, has taken the title.
You’ve likely heard of him - he’s the guy who wanted chicken nuggets from Wendy’s.

While Carter hasn’t quite hit the 18 million mark, he is now a record holder, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records:
Congratulations to @carterjwm who just broke @TheEllenShow's record for most retweeted tweet on @Twitter #NuggsForCarter pic.twitter.com/gwKyq8zmfP

He was also awarded by Wendy’s with a certificate for his achievement, and they donated $100,000 to the fostering and adoption charity the Dave Thomas Foundation (DTFA).
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E

Aww, a happy ending. And who knows? Maybe he will get those nuggets someday.
