Ever heard of The 27 Club? There is a set of very specific criteria in on order to be eligible for membership to this exclusive club: you have to be a talented musician who made an impact on their generation. And you have to have died at 27 years old. Current card-carrying members of the 27 Club include Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Brian Jones.
There's also another similar group making the rounds nowadays - The Fake Death Club. Members of this group have all been reported by some form of media to have died but are, in fact, alive and well. Members of this club are somewhat less glamourous than their expired 27 Club cousins. We have Kel from Kenan and Kel. Screech from Saved By The Bell is in there too. And now, as of yesterday, so is Eddie Murphy.
The once formidable stand-up comic and Hollywood megastar has spent most of the latter part of his career making kids movies which no one really gets to see. Well, reports came out of Hollywood recently which stated the Axel Foley himself had been "killed in an accident on the set of the film adaptation of the video game Left 4 Dead, currently filming in Los Angeles". These reports, it must be stressed, are untrue!
So Eddie Murphy is alive. His career, on the other hand...
