Three-time Golden Raspberry Award winner Donald Trump has been permanently kicked off Twitter.
Currently, he is suspended indefinitely from Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat with the likelihood being that his accounts on all these social media platforms will also face a permanent ban in the coming days.
In a lengthy post, Twitter explained their reasons for permanently disabling Trump's Twitter account.
"In the context of horrific events this week," a statement from Twitter read, "we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open. However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules and cannot use Twitter to incite violence."
Seems like that guy who also had a cameo in the deleted scenes of 'Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps' and one episode of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' went a bit crazy in later years.
Or maybe he was always like this, and social media companies are only doing something now when he's no longer valuable to them and there are real-life consequences to giving him a platform for this long?
Who knows, folks.
At any rate, a lot of people on Twitter were very happy to see him go. Here's a selection of some of the tweets that followed news of his permanent exit.
