Who needs enemies when you've got 'friends' like these, wha?
Gabbana (the dude on the left), who has been well keen to be seen swinging out of Beckham in the past, had this to say of her toil in the world of fashion:
"She's a friend. She make a good job but... for us, she don't make the same way like a fashion designer. She become after many, many, many different things. She's a designer but... She's a fashion designer but it's another... it's different. John Galliano is a designer... Alexander McQueen."
Dolce then started digging his own hole by adding: "Victoria Beckham, Zara, H&M..." He was good enough to admit that they were all considered "professional" designers, but they are "completely different... [Italian fashion is] more cool, more trendy."
While they may have a point that she doesn't quite compare to McQueen or Galliano (yet), it just wasn't conveyed the best way. We'll blame the language barrier.
To date, Victoria Beckham has been worn on the red carpet by Amy Adams, Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Michelle Williams, Beyonce, Cameron Diaz and that's just for starters. Not sure if H&M or Zara can compete with that.
