It involved a manoeuvre... the Heimlich manoeuvre. And you can tell David's been wanting to bust that manoeuvre out for years. It also means that the upcoming series of Britain's Got Talent gets a mention, so everyone's a winner.
So here's what happened. David, Simon, Amanda and - Sinitta (of course, she's such a beacon of talent) - were in the middle of judging some poor desperate/shining star in the making when the overlord Cowell started choking on a mint. Amanda attempted to alleviate the matter by patting Simon on the back, but David instinctively knew that a much more vigorous action was required.
Someone speaking to The Sun said: "As soon as David noticed Simon was in trouble he leapt up from his chair. He put his all into giving him the Heimlich manoeuvre, but seemed to be enjoying it a little too much." Quelle surprise.
According to Heatworld.com: "This comes after Simon got involved with an 11-year-old's knife throwing act and came close to being injured."
