The Sun reports: "Bowers had headlined a DJ set at the trendy Deco Lounge nightclub in Hertford, Herts. The alleged victim is believed to have been at the club before going to a nearby hotel in the early hours of Saturday. She later contacted police. Specially-trained detectives took a video statement from the woman in a police 'rape suite'. Ex-Celebrity Big Brother contestant Bowers was arrested after attending Hatfield police station on Tuesday by prior appointment. He was accused of conspiracy to rape, while his 35-year-old friend was quizzed on suspicion of rape. Both had DNA, mugshots and fingerprints taken before being interviewed. It is understood the men deny the allegations and were bailed until May 14."
Hertfordshire Police confirmed yesterday: "A 32-year-old man from Surrey presented himself at Hatfield police station by prior arrangement on April 3. The man has been arrested and is assisting police following an allegation of sexual assault."
