There are many pros to having a celebrity son who becomes one of the A-list in Hollywood. There's the financial security, the lifestyle, the travel and pride in the world celebrating your child's work, but for Colin Farrell's mum Rita, it also seems to have brought good ole Cupid as it's been revealed that she's engaged to Hollywood producer Joel Michaels and the two are set to walk down the aisle in LA in June.
Rita, who we have to say is considerably glam for an Irish mammy, split from Colin's father way back when he was a teen, met Joel at an LA party according to reports. Michaels has never worked with Colin so we're not sure how the two became acquainted, but it sounds like a Hollywood love story we wanna hear more about. Michaels work does include some of the later productions in the Terminator franchise, The Changeling (a horror movie that scarred many in their youth) and other B-movies dating back to the 1970s. You know, stuff with Jean Claude van Damme and such. So maybe don't put him in charge of this story if it becomes a movie.
Anyway, it looks like a permanent move to the sunnier climes of SoCal is on the cards for the Castleknock native. All the best Rita!
