Anyone paying proper attention to Claire Byrne on last night's Primetime may have spotted a little sparkler on her ring finger, and today it's been confirmed that she's engaged to boyfriend Gerry Scollan.
Apparently only telling colleagues quietly before the show went on air last night, the former Daily Show and current Primetime host broke the news to the country ever so subtly by wearing the engagement ring in public last night. A spokeswomen for Byrne confirmed the engagement but didn't give any details of how or when the proposal happened, so we'll have to wait a bit to hear if Scollan got down on one knee for her or was more modern in his approach. The pair have been together since meeting last year, with their first appearance together taking place at the VIP Style Awards. Congrats to the pair, we're delighted for them both.
