Over the weekend, Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend angrily took to Twitter when they were accused of being involved in a paedophile ring involving their own daughter.

The accusations follow Teigen's use of a pizza emoji on an image of her daughter in fancy dress as a hot dog. Liz Crokin, who styles herself an investigative journalist on 'Pedogate', an evolution of the widely discredited Pizzagate conspiracy theory (which alleged that a Washington pizzeria was home to a child sex abuse ring that includes celebrities such as Hillary Clinton),indicated that the use of the emoji indicated that Teigen was linked to the supposed ring.

Crokin’s tweet has since been deleted but Teigen shared what was said, calling out the person behind the account and criticising Twitter for having previously verified the account:
