Not all heroes wear capes.
A six-year-old boy who received 90 stitches is being hailed a "hero" by Marvel's very own Captain America. The young boy, Bridger, is said to have stood in the way of a charging dog, protecting his little sister from the attack. The heroic brother and his selfless act has caught the attention of Chris Evans, who shared a special message just for him.
Evans recorded a video where he said: "Pal, you're a hero, what you did was so brave, so selfless — your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you."
He then revealed that as a gift for his bravery, the actor will be sending him an authentic Captain America shield.
"Keep being the man you are, we need people like you," Evans continued. "Hang in there, I know recovery might be tough, but based on what I've seen, I don't think there's much that can slow you down."
The incredible story has been shared online by Bridger's aunt Nicole Walker. In light of what happened to her nephew, she created an Instagram page which highlighted his bravery. Protecting his younger sister from the attack, Bridger had said following the tragic incident:"If someone had to die, I thought it should be me."
She then tagged a range of actors known for playing superheroes on the big screen, Chris Evans being one of them. Since then, 'Captain Marvel' star Brie Larson, The Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo, actress Octavia Spencer and many others have reached out to support the heroic brother.
This isn't the first time that Chris Evans has reached out to help a fan in need either. As well as this heroic brother, a few years back Evans, Snoop Dogg, Mark Hamill and more reached out to a teenage boy who was being bullied by his classmates.
