They got married in a glitzy star-studded wedding in June of last year, but it seems that Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari have reached the end of the line.
Asghari has filed for divorce from the pop star, despite posting a loved-up dedication to his wife on their anniversary, with a video montage captioned: "One year married to the woman of my dreams. Happy anniversary my love."
TMZ report that the filing was made yesterday evening, with rumours abounding that Asghari confronted his wife last week over claims that she had cheated.
An inside claimed huge argument ensued because Asghari believed the rumours, and he is believed to have moved out of their shared mansion in Calabasas before filing for divorce due to 'irreconcilable differences.'
The pair first met after the 29-year-old Asghari, an Iranian-American model and fitness trainer, appeared in Britney's 2016 music video for 'Slumber Party'. They became engaged in 2021 and married last year, after the conservatorship that had dominated her adult life was finally lifted.
Spears has not posted about the alleged split publicly, but instead has discussed how she is in the market to buy a horse:
Asghari, meanwhile, recently declared that he was on a 'social media break' following his mother's involvement in a 'major accident'.
Meanwhile, US tabloid Page Six reports that Asghari is threatening to release 'extraordinarily embarrassing' material about Spears if their prenup agreement is not re-negotiated.
