This'll make you laugh; I've just spent 20 minutes uploading the gallery from the awards last January. I just went into WENN and saw a sea of the same faces against the exact same backdrop and just went for it. There was Jo Brand in exactly the same attire (as last year), Ulrika Johnson in the same trousers, Noel Fielding doing that thing he always does in that cape... Amy Childs with some TOWIEs, even though she's since long gone. The sight of Sheridan Smith looking incredibly awkward didn't bring the realisation home... Didn't even twig when I saw Goldie Hawn, I merely thought "Wow, Goldie must really enjoy the comedy awards, she's only back again!"
It was only when I saw this photo that I copped things were a little amiss... "Rick Mayall giving Imagine's Alan Yentob a fauxer? Brain does not recall image. This is a new image. The rest are old images. Kack. That's Mondays for you. Must start again." And so I started again. Same faces, with some new additions, like Sarah Millican clearly masquerading as Victoria Woods' daughter. Yes, that is Victoria Woods daughter, and she's not been feeling too hot this weekend after being mistaken for someone twice her age and body mass. While we're at it, WENN, this is Jessica Stevenson, so much more than a "Guest".
And here's the photo I've been waiting for. They look happy. Genuinely happy, which is really nice. What's even nicer is to see Charlie Brooker sporting what he would describe as a "ginger" beard... I know that a part of me will always be with him.
