He's taken to the whiskey after his retirement it would seem, but in the best possible way.

Glendalough whiskey announced this week that they have an exciting new backer in the shape of Irish rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll. The distillery is one of Ireland's first craft whiskey makers and a founding member of the Irish Whiskey Association, and O'Driscoll is joining as part-owner, which will probably mean that he at least gets staff discount on the produce.

You can probably expect a bottle of whiskey under your Christmas tree so if you're one of the lucky few mates of BOD himself, but the company have also announced that they're expanding their offerings by producing a season gin, as well as looking to branch out in to the Australian and US markets with their drinks, including a craft poitín.

That expansion has meant a few jobs along the way for brand ambassadors, and as more success comes along there may well be another good news story in the Irish food and drink sector.

They've already created a small batch of summer gin, and have an autumn edition on the way soon enough, while their 7-year-old single malt whiskey will be released later this month. We're assuming BOD gets the first sample...
