Yesterday marked the first anniversary of Carrie Fisher’s death, and the loss still weighs heavy on the hearts of fans and those who knew her.
Her Star Wars co-star and on-screen brother Mark Hamill led the Twitter tributes to the Princess Leia actress yesterday while Lourd took to Instagram to mark the day.
After sharing a famous quote from Carrie’s autobiography Wishful Drinking (“She drowned in moonlight strangled by her own bra”) using emojis, Lourd wrote: “My momby had an otherworldly obsession with the northern lights, but I never got to see them with her. We journeyed to northern Norway to see if we might ‘see the heavens lift up her dark skirts and flash her dazzling privates across [our] unworthy irises.’ And she did. I love you times infinity.”
She shared pictures of herself and her father, Bryan Lourd, in front of the Northern Lights in Norway, alongside the caption.
Hours later, marking her grandmother Debbie Reynolds’ first anniversary (Reynolds, also an actress, is best-known for Singin’ in the Rain and died only a day after her daughter, Carrie), she shared a pictures of a young Reynolds and Fisher in the car together. Lourd captioned her post with a series of emojis that spelled out “Abadaba,” a nickname she often used for her grandma.
