After their unexpected loss to Japan over the weekend, Ireland were determined to make amends in their third World Cup match of the tournament against Russia.
Thankfully, they did just that, with Ireland v Russia ending with the boys in green beating their opponents by an impressive 35 points.
Here's what Twitter had to say about it all.
Probably my favourite flag of the #RWC19 so far. 🤣 #IREvRUS pic.twitter.com/zMKHW0kxRy

Both Ireland and Russia will be captained by past pupils of Irish Spiritan schools for this morning's match. Johnny Sexton (@StMarysCSSp) & Vasily Artemyev (@BlackrockColl). Great occasion for @SpiritanEdu & @Irish_Spiritans #RWC2019 #IREvRUS pic.twitter.com/yu8cmEujpA

Ireland have resorted to their traditional gameplan - grinding the opposition, and mostly their supporters, down. #irevrus

That's Peter O'Mahony's second ever Test try.
He scored his first against Samoa back in 2013.
That score against Samoa was the very first Ireland try of the Joe Schmidt era! #IREvRUS— Murray Kinsella (@Murray_Kinsella) October 3, 2019
Lads out drinking pints for the #IREvRUS rugby on their early lunch of a Thursday, would remind you of the tales you'd read about the Celtic Tiger #BoomIsBack #Heinomite

One man in green off the pitch made a big impression on viewers.
Sure, everyone loves the partially-body painted Japanese Ireland fan, but I’m more interested in the MORTIFIED lad behind him 😂🤦🏻♂️#IREvRUS #RWC2019 pic.twitter.com/biFQeoVzIf
