Two team-mates from the Los Angeles Dodgers were in an altercation that ended up with one of them needing surgery.
It's the type of move that only Mike Tyson has tried and successfully pulled off before, but that wasn't going to stop baseball player Miguel Olivo from replicating it. Both he and Guerrero are playing at the Dodgers' AAA franchise the Albuquerque Isotopes (a step down from the major leagues, essentially) and were in a match against Salt Lake Bees when the incident occurred.
Olivo wasn't pleased with his team-mates in general, but it seems Guerrero was the focus of his ire. When he walked past him in the dugout, a report on StingemBees.com claims that Guerrero was sucker punched and a scuffle broke out.
As the squad and management team attempted to separate the two, Olivo apparently bit off part of Guerrero's ear, and he will need plastic surgery to repair the damage done.

He could miss up to five weeks as a result, and Olivo has been placed on the suspended list by the team.
