If rumours are to be believed, Barry Keoghan is set to face off against his fellow Irishman Paul Mescal in the forthcoming sequel to Ridley Scott's 'Gladiator'.
Although the Dubliner has yet to be officially confirmed for the part - where he will apparently play the villain of the story - it looks like Keoghan has already begun to beef up for the role.
He posted pictures of the results of his workout routine, which has seen him train alongside actor Jacob Elordi with their trainer Kirk Myers.
Myers is a personal trainer to the stars with clients including Adriana Lima, Kaia Gerber and Addison Rae.
Keoghan has also been training extensively with English PT Michael Bossman, who whipped him into shape for his role in Marvel's 'The Eternals'.
It seems that Keoghan and Elordi have struck up a friendship after starring together in new film 'Saltburn' alongside the likes of Richard E. Grant, Rosamund Pike and Carey Mulligan.
However, you won't find his 'Gladiator' co-star Paul Mescal discussing fitness or flashing his abs anytime soon; he recently told The Hollywood Reporter: “With films like this and superhero films, there is sometimes a focus on that, which I don’t find that interesting. Of course, there’s a physical robustness required for the character, but past that, I’m not interested. This guy’s got to fight and got to be a beast. And whatever that looks and feels like is right for me, is what it’s going to be."
