The 86th Academy Awards, or Oscars as everyone calls them, kick off this Sunday and while we can expect plenty of jibes and jiving from host Ellen DeGeneres and a wealth of emotional speeches from the winners, that's not what we're looking forward to most from this years ceremony.
No, the thing we're looking forward to most are the clusterf*cks that are bound to happen in one way or another. The losing nominees caught on camera at the wrong moment, someone taking to the stage and getting the wear with a genuine Hollywood superstar and people making a nuisance of themselves in general.
So in our looking forward to 2014's golden moment, here's some of the best moments from Oscars past, in no particular order.
Jennifer Lawrence's middle finger moment after winning Best Actress
We'll start with our most recent favourite moment. Post her win and subsequent fall last year, J.Law tumbled into the press room and supposedly flipped off a family member who was heckling her for posing, which was subsequently caught on camera because, you know, it's the press room. Anyway, following that she gave the best press speech in recent Oscar memory due to her being overwhelmed and a tiny bit inebriated.
James Franco and Anne Hathaway's diabolically bad Oscar hosting
Franco and Hathaway hosting the ceremony in 2011, and while both were and are still big Hollywood players, instead of the Academy giving the stale ceremony a new lease on life, what they got was a very bored and non-present Franco and an over-eager and possibly overcompensating Hathaway. And it was very, very painful.
Marlon Brando snubs Oscars by sending Native American to refuse award for him
When Marlon Brando finally won an Oscar in 1973 for his performance in "The Godfather", some would thought that he'd put aside his oddball behaviour and behave himself for once. No such luck though, as Brando sent a Native American activist by the name of Sacheen Littlefeather to refuse the award on his behalf with a 15-page statement on why he wouldn't be accepting the award. This, as you can imagine, was the last year that the Academy allowed anyone other than an award's presenter to accept for a winner.

How many Oscar performances have resulted in legal action from Disney, complaints from Hollywood greats such as Paul Newman and Julie Andrews, and feature Rob Lowe singing with Snow White? Just this one mess of an opening number for the 1989 Academy Awards. Poor Lily Tomlin didn't stand a chance. This is 11 minutes and 41 seconds of your life you'll never get back.
Seth MacFarlane reducing half the worlds population to one single bodypart
What more did you expect from the creator of Family Guy, American Dad and Ted? There was uproar after MacFarlane decided to use one of his breaks in the 2013 ceremony to focus on actresses who have and haven't exposed their breasts onscreen via song, reminding everyone just how sexist the movie industry still is.
The creators of South Park arriving dressed as Gwyneth Paltrow and J.Lo
When Trey Parker and Matt Stone arrived at the 2000 Oscars, having been nominated for their song in "South Park: The Movie" dressed as iconic actresses from the previous year, it was a pretty blatant middle finger to the Academy and showbiz industry in general. But what you may not have known is that they were also tripping balls at the time, having taken LSD en route to the ceremony itself. Watch the below for their brilliant account of the evening.
Samuel L. Jackson caught being a sore loser on camera
When Martin Landau pipped Samuel L. Jackson to the post for Best Supporting Actor in 1995, Jackson forgot the golden rule of awards ceremonies. You are always on camera. Always. And as such got caught cursing his loss. Keep your eyes on his window below for the golden moment.

Some may think Brody an idiot, but in his defence, when was he ever likely to get an opportunity like this ever again? Plus Berry didn't seem to mind too much now did she?
