This isn't very nice. And we thought everyone loved Ant and Dec.

There they were. Ant and his mam having a quiet Sunday lunch yesterday, when a herd of muppets started hammering on the window next to their table, giving it all that with the finger gestures and so on.

Ant, being the gentlemanly sort, went outside to ask them to stop giving them the finger while they were eating and recording them on their phones. Instead of them saying "Ah, yes, of course, enjoy the rest of your lunch, kind sir" they got him in a headlock. His mum, 58-year-old Christine, legged it outside to help her son, only to get pushed to the ground.

A witness speaking to The Sun said: "The youths were banging on the window, filming them and generally being a pain - and they just wouldn’t let it lie. Ant was completely reasonable and said, 'Leave it out, lads, I’m just having a quiet meal.' But it immediately turned really nasty and one of them jumped on him and put him in a headlock. When his mum came out to see what was going on she was pushed over. It was shocking and terrifying to see. Ant was furious and both he and his mum were left shaken. Ant called the police but by the time officers came the group had ran off and he decided not to take it further. Thankfully neither of them were hurt.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said of the pub incident: "At 8.13pm on Thursday March 13 there were reports of an assault in Spencer Road, Chiswick. Police attended but no allegation was made and no one suffered any notable injuries."

According to heatworld, Ant has had previous incidents occur for no reason when having a pint: "in March 2011 he was punched in the face during an unprovoked attack at his local pub. He was watching football in the Barley Mow in Chiswick when he was assaulted."
