Despite breaking up in 2015, Garfield and Stone remain very close friends. Which makes it even more impressive that the 'Amazing Spider-Man' actor was able to keep one of the biggest secrets of the last few years from his MJ.
During his appearance on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Garfield revealed that he managed to keep his role in the newest 'Spider-Man' film a secret from pretty much everyone, including his former co-star, Stone.
Garfield didn't hold back his delight in his ability to hold back secrets.
"Emma kept on texting me," Garfield said on the podcast. "She was like, 'Are you in this new Spider-Man film?' And I was like, 'I don't know what you're talking about.'
"She was like, 'Shut up. Just tell me,'" continued the 'Tick, Tick...BOOM!' star, laughing. "I'm like, 'I honestly don't know', I kept it going, even with her. And then she saw it. She was like, 'You're a jerk.'"
Garfield made a comeback as in his old role from the 2012 franchise in the newest MCU movie, which also featured Tobey Maguire making a return from the original 'Spider-Man' movies directed by Sam Raimi.
Garfield and Stone starred together in the 2012 film 'The Amazing Spider-Man' and the follow up in 2014, 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'. Originally meant to be a trilogy, the third instalment never went ahead after a row between Sony and the director, Marc Webb. Tom Holland then took over the Spidey suit in 2016.
