If eyewitness reports are true, comedian Amy Schumer has been arrested following the protest march. She and actress Emily Ratajkowski joined protestors at Capitol Hill yesterday against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh

Kavanaugh has testified and denied sexually assaulting California College Professor Christine Blasey Ford in high school when they were teenagers. The vote for Kavanaugh is expected to take place over the coming days. The protestors staged a sit-in at The Hart Senate Office yesterday, which was over-run by hundreds of people occupying a sit-in against Kavanaugh. Schumer and Ratajkowski took part in the protest:

Schumer took to the stage to say "Emily and I just wanted to thank you all so much for showing up today. That's what we're going to do, we're going to keep showing up. And no matter how this goes, they cannot keep us down". She continued, "We will win. A vote for Kavanaugh, is a vote saying women don't matter. Let's stay together, let's fight, let's keep showing up".

Other senators and workers who approved of the protest, placed posters around the building in support of the hundreds that staged the sit-in:

Swiftly after the protest began, police were called, and started arresting people. It is believed that both Schumer, Ratajkowski, and hundreds of others have been detained. While the arrests were taking place, Schumer even took the time to tweet her support to a fan, saying 'I think we're gonna get arrested... and we're so proud of you".

There has been no news yet on whether the protestors have been released.
